KELLIE'S CASTLE

Kellie’s Castle House or Kellas House was built in 1905 by a prominent Scottish rubber farmer named William Kellie Smith . The three -storey building was built according to the design of a Moghul palace in the city of Agra , India . The builders of the building were specially brought from Madras.The building has 14 rooms, a basement and the secret tunnel is also equipped with the first elevator built in Malaya . On the second floor will be built a tennis court with a cement floor.A bridge across the Kinta River was built for visitors to easily get to Kellie’s Palace. A eatery and souvenir shop and car park were built by the West Kinta District Council in 1990.Kellie's Castle is often the location of the filming of dramas and movies . Among them is the film Anna And The King starring Chow Yuen Fatt. Kellie castle opening times - 9 am - 6 pm
